Why should I care about my lips’ moisture barrier?
Your lips don’t have the same natural defenses as the rest of your skin—they lack oil glands and are particularly prone/susceptible to hydration lost over the course of a day. Having a strong barrier helps to maintain moisture & protect against external stressors, resulting in lips that feel softer, smoother, and more defined.
How do I layer this with other lip products?
Sugar Lip Cream can be worn alone or layered with other products. Pair with your favorite lip liner to help define & plump the look of lips. We like to use Sugar Advanced Lip Therapy as a base layer to nourish and visibly repair dry, flakey lips.
Why sugar?
Sugar is a natural humectant known to prevent moisture loss. Many of our lip products contain an ingredient we call “activated sugar,” which uses sugar that starts as cane stock & beet root and is transformed into a format skin can recognize and use to help soften and condition lips.
My lip cream is hard to squeeze out of the tube—what should I do?
Due to its blend of oils and emollients, our lip creams may harden when exposed to cold temperatures, making it harder to dispense. If this occurs, gently warm the tube by massaging it between your hands for 15–30 seconds with the cap on before use. The lip cream should then dispense normally. Note that this change in texture does not affect the product’s safety or performance.
