Sake, prepared from rice grains, is known to purify and soften the skin. It is believed to have originated in Asia in 4800 B.C. and has been used in beauty rituals for over 3,000 years.
“To keep our bathing ritual authentic, we wanted to source real sake, just like that of the Japanese geishas’ purifying baths that inspired us. One night at an early stage of development, I ran a bath to test the latest sake. The soak then consisted only of sake and the foaming agent, and the undiluted formula made me a bit tipsy. We both had a good laugh!”
