What is an emulsion?

Our emulsion is tiny oil droplets evenly spread throughout a watery base for a weightless moisturizer. Because of its low viscosity, it can penetrate the skin and absorb quickly. Our Rose Emulsion hydrates like a moisturizer but without the extra weight.

How does dehydration affect all skin types*?

Dry skin occurs when it loses the ability to naturally produce and retain oils—such as fatty acids and squalene—causing a weakened lipidic barrier that shows intense signs of moisture loss such as fine, dry lines; itchiness; roughness; and flakiness. Oily skin lacks necessary water, which results in a slower-functioning skin barrier and leads to a buildup of dead skin cells mixing with sebum that can cause clogged pores and exasperate their appearance. Do all skin types* need a proper balance of water and oil?

Yes, all skin types* benefit from a proper oil-water balance to prevent dehydration. Dry skin needs both water and oil everywhere. Oily skin needs water all over, but also oil without the weight. And combination skin shares the needs of dry and oily skin in certain areas of the face. When this oil-water balance is achieved, skin appears softer, smoother, and more plumped with an overall stronger skin barrier that behaves more predictably.

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage using our Rose Emulsion in tandem with your makeup routine as it’s designed to deliver weightless hydration on its own or layered under a primer for a smoother canvas.
