A spotlight on Fresh people
Professional Skier and Model
Sierra is a professional skier and model from Park City, Utah. Putting on her first skis at the age of two, she turned professional at 23 years old and has since appeared in ski films Valhalla and Warren Miller’s Ticket to Ride. In December 2015, Sierra starred in How Did I Get Here, a documentary about her life. Sierra was also cast on America’s Next Top Model and has modeled for American Eagle Outfitters, Nike, and Levi’s.
…my greatest passion in life. There’s no better feeling than clicking into your skis and having that rush of cold air as you fly down the mountain. It’s one of those things in life you’ll never master. There are always more techniques and tricks to learn. So there’s a never-ending pursuit of growth—and I love that.
My philosophy on health:
“I’m a crazy health lady. The healthier I can be, the better I feel—it’s so rewarding. Taking care of yourself is the best gift you can give yourself. You only have one body to live in; you have to take care of it.”
Physical vs. mental preparation:
“The more you go out physically and push your limits, the more mentally strong and confident you become in your sport; the two play off each other. I also incorporate yoga, meditation, and positive self-talk into my practice—these powerful mental tools help me to connect my mind and my body and really excel in my sport.”
I started modeling…
“…when my mom convinced me to try out for America’s Next Top Model. It seemed so far-fetched because I’ve always been such a tomboy, but somehow I made it onto the show.”
“I had a really unique, bohemian upbringing. My parents were both ski bums, and a lot of the time we lived out of a van and chased snowstorms. It made me realize that this world is what you make it. There are no rules. There are no boundaries. And you can create whatever you want out of your life.”
“…being authentic and true to yourself and not letting anybody—including yourself—define you.”
